The Window of Reflection

We invite you to spend time with your handcrafted piece, allowing it to reveal its presence in your space. If the resonance isn't right, we welcome returns within 30 days of receiving your item.

This period honors the rhythms of relationship—allowing enough time for the object to settle into your environment, for you to witness how light plays across its surface at different times of day, how its texture responds to touch, and how its presence influences the energy of your space.

The Nature of Handcraft

Handcrafted objects carry inherent variations—subtle differences in glaze, wood grain, or fiber texture that reflect their organic origins and human touch. These are not imperfections but signatures of authenticity.

Returns based solely on these natural variations go against the philosophy of handcraft. We carefully document these characteristics in our product descriptions and images, celebrating the unique voice of each piece.

However, if you receive an item that differs substantially from its description or carries damage not disclosed as part of its character, we consider this grounds for return beyond the natural language of materials.

Custom Creations

Items created specifically for you—whether custom-sized, specially colored, or personalized—embody a different relationship to return. These pieces represent a dialogue of co-creation and carry your intentions within their form.

Due to their unique nature, custom pieces are not eligible for return unless they arrive damaged or significantly different from the specifications we agreed upon. Our collaborative process for custom work includes detailed approval steps to ensure alignment before creation.

When Materials Speak Differently

Occasionally, despite our care in transit, items may arrive damaged. If this happens:

• Document the condition with photographs upon opening, before removing all packaging materials
• Contact us within 48 hours of receiving your package
• Retain all original packaging for potential carrier inspection

We'll work with you to resolve the situation through replacement, repair, or refund, depending on the nature of the damage and the piece involved.

The Sustainability of Return

We approach returns with awareness of their environmental impact. Returned items are thoughtfully reintegrated:

• Pieces in perfect condition return to our collection, perhaps finding their ideal home with another owner
• Items with minor wear may be offered at a gentle discount, acknowledging their journey
• Pieces that cannot be resold may be reimagined—ceramics ground for mosaic work, textiles incorporated into new pieces, timber elements reclaimed for smaller objects

This circular approach honors our commitment to materials and reduces waste in the cycle of creation and commerce.

International Returns

For our friends across oceans and borders, the return journey requires additional consideration:

• The 30-day return window remains, but we acknowledge the additional transit time involved
• Return shipping costs for international orders are the responsibility of the buyer
• Any import duties or taxes incurred on the return journey cannot be refunded, as these are levied by your local authorities

International shipping carries more complexity and environmental impact—we encourage especially thoughtful consideration of these purchases, and are happy to provide additional information or images before ordering.

Exceptions to Our Return Flow

A few categories of items exist outside our standard return process:

• Workshop experiences and gift certificates, which may be transferred but not returned
• Sale items marked as final sale, which represent a different covenant of exchange
• Items that have been visibly used, altered, or damaged after receipt
